Ausgebildet als Diplom-Sozialwissenschaftlerin, volontiert beim Adolf-Grimme-Institut, beim WDR und beim ZDF. Ich lese Gesellschaft — und erzähle sie so, dass sie verständlich wird. Mein Thema war nie nur „Integration" oder „die türkische Küche". Mein Thema ist, wie Menschen, die einander fremd scheinen, füreinander lesbar werden. Trained as a diploma sociologist, mentored at the Adolf-Grimme-Institut, the WDR and the ZDF. I read society — and tell it so it makes sense. My subject was never just "integration" or "Turkish cuisine." My subject is how people who seem foreign to one another become legible to each other. Diplomalı sosyal bilimci olarak eğitildim; Adolf-Grimme-Enstitüsü'nde, WDR'de ve ZDF'de staj yaptım. Toplumu okurum — ve onu anlaşılır biçimde anlatırım. Konum hiçbir zaman yalnızca „entegrasyon" ya da „Türk mutfağı" olmadı. Konum, birbirine yabancı görünen insanların birbiri için nasıl okunabilir hâle geldiğidir.
